Our neighbor told us that her bees have already awoke from their winter hibernation, causing her to need to feed them honey to hold them over until the flowers bloom. What signs of spring are you seeing in your neck of the woods?
We’ve always grown a huge variety of vegetables, and when our fruit trees mature we’ll have more fruit varieties than we can handle, but we’ve never tried growing any varieties of grain besides corn.
For 2012 we’re happy to announce the introduction of 8 new grains into our growing repertoire. We’re very excited to try these out and will hopefully be increasing our production of homegrown breads, granola, pasta and of course, beer!
And here they are:
Soft White Wheat, Hard Red Wheat, Oats, Barley, Flax, Millet, Rye & Amaranth
